Volunteer to become an ADA Evidence Reviewer

Learn how to put evidence-based information to practical use and contribute your knowledge to the dental profession!

Here is a unique opportunity...
  • for educational and professional development under EBD experts,

  • continuing education credit,

  • for publication acknowledgement, and

  • to help colleagues use current evidence in decision-making.

Please complete the application to be an ADA Evidence Reviewer.

Selected participants attend a 2-day training workshop to gain the skills to critically appraise systematic reviews and write the critical summaries. Evidence Reviewers are required to write ten critical summaries over a two-year period.

Critical summaries will be published on this Web site, and a subset will also be published in the Journal of the American Dental Association (JADA). After training, ADA Evidence Reviewers receive ongoing mentoring in writing critical summaries. The ADA Evidence Reviewer Program provides participants with an opportunity to expand their critical thinking skills and become involved with the ADA Center on Evidence-Based Dentistry.

Application to the ADA evidence reviewer program: ADA evidence Reviewer candidates should have a dental degree. Advanced education or experience in clinical research, EBD or a related field is desirable but not required. Such individuals may be faculty members, adjunct faculty members, practicing dentists, or other dental professionals interested in and supportive of EBD. Those selected for the program will be notified of the dates of the upcoming workshops.
