Conference Objectives

  • To learn what Evidence-Based Dentistry is and how to apply EBD principles and tools in clinical decision-making.
  • To recruit and train selected dental professional throughout the United States to become Evidence-Based Dentistry Champions to disseminate information about EBD to their colleagues.

This conference recruits approximately 100 dental professionals throughout the US to become Evidence-Based Dentistry Champions. The Champions are recruited through an application process and eligibility criteria are:

  • Reside and practice in the United States
  • Oral health care provider directly involved in patient treatment

Selected EBD Champions commit to sharing knowledge and skills gained from the Conference. Dissemination can occur through a variety of formal and informal mechanisms. Applicants are asked to describe their dissemination plans.

Two-step application process

  • If you are selected to attend the conference, you will be sent further instructions to confirm your attendance and register. The registration fee is $150 for ADA members and $225 for non-members.

Applicants are selected in order to obtain a representative sample of US dental professionals from a broad range of practice and work settings. The primary selection criteria for the EBD Champions:

  • The applicant’s proposed dissemination strategy, and
  • Thought leaders who have the ability to gain access to the local professional community, dental school, or health organization to promote the value of EBD.

All attendees are responsible for their own travel expenses, including transportation and hotel. Attendees receive between 11 and 14 continuing education credits for their participation in the program. The American Dental Association is an ADA CERP-recognized provider. American Dental Association
