There is no benefit to adding antivirals to corticosteroid therapy, versus using corticosteroids alone, in the treatment of Bell palsy.

Critical Summary Assessment

A meta-analysis of the data from six randomized controlled trials showed no difference between the two treatment modalities in terms of achieving at least partial facial muscle recovery in patients with Bell palsy.
